Reflection on Intercultural Rhetoric (IR)
This paper was originally written for my class in E507 Intercultural Rhetoric (IR). Reflection on IR includes how I felt about my
previous writing class and how I will plan a future writing class based on IR concepts I had learned in class.
By writing a reflection on IR, I realized that EFL/ESL teachers need to have a pedagogical and cultural philosophy regarding how to teach writing. We should consider and respect individual students' characteristic and cultural aspects. In other words, we should not force EFL/ESL learners to conform to English writing patterns.
