Evaluation on First Teaching
After the lesson was delivered, I was given feedback about the lesson I did. The evaluation feedback was given from the instructor, lesson plan coaches, evaluators and my classmates who were hypothetical students using the teaching evaluation SIOP form. Based on the aspects of the SIOP, it was easy to figure out what the lesson was like in each component, which led to improving the lesson. In addition, I worked as a lesson plan coach and an evaluator. This was a very valuable experience in that it gave me an opportunity to analyze and criticize the whole process of lesson delivery with professional and critical views.
The experience truly benefited me in receiving feedback about my lesson. Positive feedback motivated me and encouraged me. Moreover, I got to know the areas that I need to pay more attention to for my future lesson, through this evaluation. For example, I spent enough time on acting activities but ran out of time at the end that resulted in a very quick review for wrap-up.
